Dev Log #4 - PAX PUSH!
Hey! It’s Prie again, coming in hot for this month’s dev log! The mood is high, we're vibing as a team and everyone is on their toes ready to take our project upward and onward! We’ve been refining ourselves, dusting old elements off the shelf to give it a nicer shine all in time for..
🥁 🥁 🥁…
PAX 2024 AUS!
Yep! Made with Cookies is showing off Ecliptic as part of the PAX RISING showcase!! That’s crazy!! It’s surreal! I’d pinch myself if I weren’t so afraid that this was JUST a dream.

As a writer, I endeavor to try and record my thoughts concisely and vividly, so as to paint a picture in your head. I won’t lie to you, I’ve deleted and rewritten this part of the Development Log because I was struggling to communicate how I felt without sounding like I was a rambling 10 year old. But I think that’s what this is. I think my inner child is marveling at how adult and put together everything feels right now. We’re looking at the sea of games across a convention center and feeling the magic of play, and I’m excited all over again! Please come by and check us out at PAX from the 11th-13th of October!
We also did an interview with Untitledgaming, where yours truly prattled on a little bit more about the inspirations behind Ecliptic and the team.

Creating a more consistent schedule has helped us stay on track as a team- perhaps that should have been common sense, but hey! We’re learning as we go.
We started Made With Cookies hot off the grill from university, trying to hit the ground running that we almost lost our footing in the process. For anyone trying to do something like this, please take a moment to breathe and check where you are at the moment. Ask yourself:
- What do we need to keep going?
- What is everyone willing to put into this project right now?
- Who needs a breather?
- How can I be present right now?
We were too ambitious at the start of the project, we can admit that now! It’s why we’re choosing to push back our release date to 2025. We are going to prioritize our relationships with one another and also the realities of trying to work on this project part time in addition to our other responsibilities.
We’re still trucking on! If I could choose one thing I’d like Made with Cookies to be admired for is our relationship with one another, with a tenacity to create what we want to, and we want to make something that we’re going to be proud of. Less is more, but sometimes more is more, haha. Here’s a look at some upcoming concepts and ideas to expand the project even further! Look forward to seeing them fully realised!
(VFX concepts from TJ; updated ideas on how to visualize the star signs outside of the visual novel format!)

There’s a whole lot more, but I’ll look forward to showing you more polished versions of what’s up ahead the next time I am given the helm of writing a Development Log.
Cheers everyone; the Ecliptical Cycle goes on, and so do we!
