Dev Log #6 - PAX Aftermath
Hey Hey Friends!
PAX was such a massive highlight for the team and everything we have achieved! It was a very big pat on the back for us all. All of the hard work we put in to get the demo to where it ended up was worth every second.
We spoke with so many new people about our game! We doubled our steam wishlists and reached our first milestone goal, 500! While it isn’t big in the grand scheme of Steam algorithm and what not… it still means so much to the team that well over 500 people care enough about our game to wishlist.
The most common feedback we got was about the theme of Ecliptic, the horoscopes and mythology came across strong enough that even people who weren’t overly familiar with astrology were able to pick out at least some aspects like that Aries is a ram. It is really quite an incredible feeling to hear that something you are so passionate about and have been living and breathing for many months (over a year now :”>) is something that excites others. Of course our friends and family hype us up but nothing more reality hitting than hearing it from random strangers during the weekend at PAX.
Thank you, to each and everyone who approached us, spoke with us, played Ecliptic, bothered to stop to watch, grabbed freebies, looked as they walked by, thank you!
So many industry people spoke with us as well which was a pleasant surprise! We have a lot of cool things in the background now working away which we never would have had access too if it wasn’t for our booth at PAX.
None of us would be here without each other, I think it goes to say you cannot have a team without solid friendships and trust. So thank you to the rest of the team, for trusting that I could pull this off for us and leaving it up to me to deliver on. It has been a wild ride getting this from a hah wouldn’t it be so funny… to oh my god here we are!
I also really wanna thank Linh who was our unsung hero keeping us fed, hydrated and entertained, she really brought the energy we needed during the long hours of PAX. It’s incredible how exhausting it can be to talk about your game for 72 hours ! (Also it was her first PAX, I hope you enjoyed it Queen <3) I would also like to thank Mitch, who kept not only me from bursting when everything felt like it was going wrong during the weekend but also borrowing his tech, himself at times, his scripts, his snacks and at the end of the giant weekend, for being a very comfy shoulder to ugly cry on.
While I can ramble on about how much PAX meant to us, at the end of the day it really solidified what we make games for and why we keep going. Ecliptic is something that we are deeply passionate about and no amount of time will change that.
Anyhoot here’s a few goofy PAX photos from a few of us!
